Protect yourself against common banking scams
Whenever you suspect fraud, your first three actions should be simple: Pause. Verify. Stay in control. Fraudsters are quick, persistent and often convincing. Once you understand how common scams work, they become much easier to avoid.
7th February, 2026 – Fraud & Scam Alert – Public Notice
European Credit Investment Bank (ECIB) wishes to alert the public, investors, and business counterparties to the existence of fraudulent and scam activities being carried out by unauthorised individuals or entities falsely claiming to be associated with ECIB, its affiliates, or its management.
These activities may include, but are not limited to:
Solicitation of funds or investments using ECIB’s name, logo, or purported endorsements
False representations of guaranteed returns, exclusive investment opportunities, or regulatory approvals
Use of unofficial email addresses, messaging platforms, social media accounts, or cloned websites impersonating ECIB
Requests for upfront fees, deposits, or personal banking information under the pretext of investment onboarding or account activation
ECIB does not solicit investments, request payments, or conduct official communications through unofficial channels. Any legitimate engagement by ECIB is conducted strictly through verified corporate channels and in accordance with applicable regulatory and compliance frameworks.
Members of the public are strongly advised to:
Exercise heightened caution when approached with any investment or financial proposal claiming affiliation with ECIB
Independently verify the authenticity of such communications directly with ECIB or with the relevant regulatory authorities
Refrain from transferring funds or disclosing personal or financial information unless authenticity has been formally confirmed
ECIB disclaims all responsibility for losses arising from dealings with unauthorised parties and reserves all rights to pursue legal action against individuals or entities involved in impersonation, fraud, or misrepresentation.
